Bawumia Launches Another Digitalisation Landmark
Vice president Bawumia is committed to digitizing Ghana for the next generation.
The Ghana National Electronic Pharmacy Platform, otherwise known as e-Pharmacy platform, goes live nationwide today, Wednesday, January 3, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has announced.
Ghana’s e-pharmacy is the first in any African country and one of the few in the world. The platform consists of registered pharmacies. The Ghanaian public can buy prescribed medicines and they would be delivered to their locations. Once they register on the platform with their Ghana card.
Dr Mohammedu Bawumia took to his Facebook to announce the new digital initiative. The e-pharmacy project was spearheaded by the Vice president and stakeholders of the pharmaceutical industry.
Dr expressed delight at the convenience it will bring to Ghanaians. This will help boost the pharmaceutical industry’s delivery strength in Ghana.

The e-pharmacy platform, adds to the numerous digitalisation initiatives successfully implemented in the past six years under the NPP government. Among the numerous implementation include the Ghana card.
The national digital property address system, mobile money interoperability, universal QR Code, as well as digitisation of government services at the ports, registrar general, DVLA, passport application, and many others.
The e-pharmacy platform adds to the successful medical drone delivery service. The drones also deliver essential drugs in real-time through drones to remote parts of the country.
