Brigadier General Ashong Annan To Lead Customs As Commissioner

Brigadier General Glover Ashong Annan has been named the new Commissioner of the Ghana Revenue Authority's (GRA) Customs Division

Brigadier General Glover Ashong Annan has been named the new Commissioner of the Ghana Revenue Authority’s (GRA) Customs Division by President John Dramani Mahama.

The appointment was confirmed in a statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister for Government Communications and Spokesperson to the President, which was released on Sunday, March 23.

As part of the government’s larger attempts to correct the economy, Brig. Gen. Annan, a seasoned and well-respected commander of the Ghana Army, has been assigned the responsibility of resetting the Customs Division and assisting the GRA in meeting its income targets.

Brig. Gen. Annan, who brought a wealth of security and administrative experience to his new position, was the Presidential Security Coordinator before to his appointment.

Upon his appointment, President Mahama thanked Brigadier General Ziblim Ayorrogo, the departing Commissioner, for his devoted service to the Customs Division and the country.
