Buduburam Disaster Update: 554 Homes, Shops, & Nine Cars Damaged

The catastrophe that struck Gomoa Buduburam in the Central area last week damaged 9 cars, 554 homes, and stores.

A tragic occurrence occurred when a contractor working on the Kasoa-Winneba highway blasted a rock in the middle of the road, resulting in three immediate deaths and 47 injuries.

After Central Regional Minister Justina Marigold Assan established a five-member committee to create a list of the destroyed goods and people impacted by the explosion, the contractor temporarily suspended work.

The contractor has resumed work under police protection to avoid any potential retaliatory attacks, according to Adom News’s visit to the area on Wednesday, October 23.

Gomoa East NADMO Director Robert Hackman revealed in an interview that, according to the prepared list, 554 homes, businesses, and nine cars were damaged.

Mr. Hackman added that the police are continually patrolling the building site to maintain security and stop any such occurrences, and that NADMO is putting policies in place to prevent another catastrophe.
