Buduburam Explosion: Contractor Provides Compensation To Affected Individuals

All 550 individuals whose properties were devastated following a rock blast at Gomoa Budumburam in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region are now receiving compensation from the management of Nag Fairmont Construction Company.

In an interview with Adom News, the chairman of a five-member commission that was established to look into the October 14, 2024, calamity affirmed this.

Solomon Darko Quarm, the chairman and Gomoa East’s District Chief Executive (DCE), promised that all victims will get the compensation they were entitled to.

Four persons were killed in the tragedy, which happened during a rock-blasting operation along the Buduburam portion of the Accra-Winneba highway as part of a construction project. Several more had serious injuries, and property were destroyed.

The elderly victims would be reimbursed on Friday, according to Robert Hackman, the Gomoa East NaDMO Director, who made the payment to the victims on behalf of Nag Fairmont.

The contractor has received praise for the action from a few beneficiaries.
