Devastating Fire In Damongo: One Severely Injured As Home Burns Down

A three-bedroom home in Damongo, Savannah Region, was devastated by fire, leaving one person critically injured.
The Municipal Fire Command reports that at approximately 9:18 a.m. on Thursday, they received a distress call from Azura Kura, a Damongo suburb.
Firefighters raced to the scene, but one person was trapped inside the structure as the fire spread.
They put in a lot of effort to save the adult male victim, who was taken to the Damongo District Hospital after suffering burns to several areas of his body.
Additionally, the firefighters stopped two gas cylinders from exploding, which would have further damaged nearby buildings.
Municipal Fire Commander ADO1 Philip Okuma told Adom News that the fire was caused by an overloaded socket in one of the rooms.
Together with the Regional Fire Commander, ACFO Emmanuel Ofori Adjei, they urged residents to ensure all electronic devices are switched off and unplugged before leaving home to prevent such incidents.
