Court Halts The Fourth Estate’s Exposé On National Service Authority Scandal
The Fourth Estate was scheduled to publish a number of investigative reports tomorrow, December 3, 2024, but the National Service Authority (NSA) has rushed to court to obtain a 10-day injunction to stop them.
The Media Foundation for West Africa, which oversees The Fourth Estate project, received an injunction from the High Court via a court bailiff around twelve hours before to the initial release.
“IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that, the Defendant/Respondents, its privies, servants, agents, assigns and interested parties are hereby restrained from putting out any purported investigative report concerning the Plaintiff/Applicant and its staff until their side of the subject matter of the investigations is heard and included in the said report,” the injunction document stated.
The Fourth Estate declared on Friday, November 29, that it would begin releasing a number of investigative papers on the National Service Authority this week.
On the blind side of the Fourth Estate, however, the NSA obtained a court order to stop the publishing this week by filing an injunction application today, December 2.
