Cross River Commissioner For Women Affairs Kidnapped By Gunmen

Cross River Commissioner for women affairs, Gertrude Nnanjar Njar, have been kidnapped in Calabar, Nigeria.

According to reports, the Cross River Commissioner for Women Affairs was abducted while on official duty. She is reported to have been kidnapped by masked men from her call.

Samuel Okon told the News Agency of Nigeria that she was forcefully taken out of her official car by masked young men on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.

Her kidnapping was confirmed by Kalita Aruku Special Adviser to Gov. Ben Ayade on Information on Thursday, February 2. The kidnappers are demanding a huge ransom before she could be released.
