Dada KD’s final funeral rites on Sept. 20

The family of late Highlife musician, Dada Kwaku Duah, affectionately known as Dada KD, has announced an update regarding his final funeral rites. Initially scheduled for last Saturday, September 6, the ceremony has been postponed to Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the State House Forecourt in Accra.
This change allows for more thorough preparations, ensuring that the musician receives a farewell that befits his remarkable contributions to Ghana’s music industry.
The family officially announced the new date at a press soiree held at the conference room of the Creative Arts Agency (CAA) in Accra last week.
With a career spanning decades, Dada KD captivated audiences with his voice, emotional delivery, and mastery of traditional Ghanaian rhythms blended with heartfelt storytelling.
His songs, which often explored themes of love, life, and culture are cherished by both older generations and today’s youth.
The decision to postpone the funeral was made after careful consideration by the family, who are determined to organise a fitting tribute to the musician’s enduring legacy.

Dada KD died on Friday, May 16 after a short illness and at a time when he had been billed together with other artistes such as Obrafour, Slim Buster, Kojo Blakk for show in London on May 25. (Read
