The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) vice presidential candidate, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, has informed trainee nurses that the government is making every effort to avoid delays in their allowance payments.
Speaking to students at the Greater Accra Region’s Korle-Bu Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Dr. Prempeh emphasized the NPP’s resolve to reinstate and uphold the allowances, which had previously been discontinued by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Although Dr. Prempeh admitted that there may be sporadic payment delays, he emphasized that they are still preferable to the allowances being completely eliminated, as was the case under the NDC.
He reassured the students that the NPP is committed to initiatives that would enhance their well-being and career prospects and cherishes their contributions to healthcare.
The institution’s students conveyed their awareness of the significance of casting their ballots in the elections scheduled for December 7.
They felt that future generations, including their own younger siblings, would be significantly impacted by their support of the NPP and its programs, such as the free Senior High School (SHS) program.
They also expressed support for NPP programs like Agenda 111, which intends to construct hospitals throughout the nation, providing healthcare workers with future job possibilities.
Another important aspect that the students emphasized as being essential to their support was the guarantee of a reliable power source.
