‘Digital’ Bawumia Deploys AI Chatbot For His Campaign

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president and NPP flagbearer who is well-known for his love of innovation and technology, has made the decision to use cutting-edge technology in his presidential campaign.

In one of the few innovative actions taken globally, and a first for Africa, the ruling NPP presidential candidate has deployed an AI chatbot to engage with voters nationwide.

The Bawumia Campaign, which has already made the innovation public, claims that voters can interact with Dr. Bawumia via this platform, asking him any questions regarding his policies for the nation and receiving direct answers.

Voters can visit www.bawumiagpt.com in their browser to engage with Dr. Bawumia digitally through the AI chatbot, where they can also learn about his ideas for the nation.

Globally, artificial intelligence (AI) is rarely employed as a beneficial campaign tool because the technology is frequently abused to undermine and malign opponents.

Only a small number of politicians worldwide have used AI to their advantage during campaigns, and even then, only in very small ways. Examples include Pakistan’s Imran Khan, who once utilized it to address a virtual gathering, and U.S. Democratic Congressional candidate Shamaine Daniels.

The customized, nationwide use of the AI chatbot by Dr. Bawumia as a key component of his campaign is an uncommon worldwide move, and it’s definitely the first of its kind on the African continent.
