Education Ministry extends deadline of school selection

The Ministry of Education has extended the deadline for the school selection process to Wednesday June 25, 2025.

“The extension has become necessary due to the inclusion of private senior high schools (SHSs) in the selection process, allowing candidates additional time to make well-informed choices.

“Please note that all existing guidelines and procedures for the school selection process remain unchanged,” a statement signed and issued by the Director of Schools and Instructions Division of the Ghana Education (GES) Prince Agyemang-Duah explained.

The statement encouraged students to consult with their teachers, parents and guardians to make informed thoughtful decisions regarding their second cycle school education.

The statement directed regional directors to communicate, “this updated deadline to all Metro/Municipal/District directors of educationto bring this to the attention of final-year JHS studentsthrough their respective head eachers and encourage them totake full advantage of the extended period to carefully review and select their preferred schools.”
