Edward Obeng Kenzo Assumes Role Of Acting CEO At VRA

Edward Ekow Obeng-Kenzo has been named the Volta River Authority’s (VRA) acting CEO.

Since the VRA board has not yet been established, the government ordered his appointment. Obeng-Kenzo will take on an acting role until the next board makes a definitive decision.

He graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology with a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Public Administration (MPA).

The Ghana Institution of Engineering counts him among its members.

Obeng Kenzo was the Director of Thermal Generation SBU, the Plant Manager of Tema Thermal Power Complex (TTPC), the Operations Manager of TTPC, and the Project Manager of Tema Thermal 2 Power Project (49.5MW Siemens Emergency Power Plant) before being appointed to his current role.

Key duties include giving the Engineering and Operations branch departments strategic direction and leadership so they can innovate and increase their productivity and maintain VRA’s position as the industry leader.

Departments: Utility Services, Water Resources, Renewable Energy, Hydro Generation, Engineering Services, Technical Services, Environment & Sustainable Development, Commercial Services, Thermal Generation, Strategic Projects and New Business.
