Effia Nkwanta: Akufo-Addo’s Statue Repaired After Damage

President Akufo-Addo’s statue at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi has been restored to its former state after the damaged piece was fixed.

The statue, which was unveiled on November 6 in honor of the president, included a large hole at the rear of one of its legs.

The precise cause of the damage is still unknown, but after some locals threatened to have the statue taken down, there has been conjecture that it was the consequence of intentional vandalism. Some people think it might have been a structural flaw.

Numerous Sekondi locals have demanded the statue’s removal, pointing to incomplete projects in the area such the dualization of the Sekondi-Takoradi road, the Takoradi Market Circle, and the PTC roundabout three-tier junction.
