In preparation of the next presidential and parliamentary elections, the Electoral Commission (EC) has started moving ballots and other election-related materials to specified holding locations around the nation.
Parliamentary ballots were moved from printing facilities in the North Industrial Area to the Greater Accra Regional Police Command on Thursday, November 14, marking the start of the six-day exercise in Accra.
To guarantee the prompt and safe distribution of election materials, comparable transfers are being carried out throughout the regions.
Ballot papers have been safely kept in the Bolgatanga armory of the Regional Police Headquarters in the Upper East Region. Political party leaders, security guards, and EC officials are supervising the procedure.
National Democratic Congress (NDC) and New Patriotic Party (NPP) officials said they were pleased with the safeguards in place to protect the materials.
Election supplies were delivered to the Kumasi Police Depot in the Ashanti Region under close observation.
Together with party members, the EC’s regional director made sure that everything was present and safely stored.
The region’s political parties have promised to keep a careful eye on the materials to guard against any tampering.
