The Tesano Police Training School’s current presidential and parliamentary election result recall process has been suspended, according to the Electoral Commission (EC).
This procedure was started for constituencies whose collation was either unable to be finished on election day because of interruptions or did not follow the legal requirements of C.I. 127.
The EC said in a statement released on Friday, December 13, that the collation process had to be moved because of disruptions from political party supporters on election day and in the days that followed.
After discussions and an agreement with the Inspector General of Police and his staff, the Tesano Police Training School was chosen as the location.
The results for the Fanteakwa North, Akwatia, and Suhum constituencies were successfully collated and declared the day before, according to the Commission, since political party agents were aware of the change in location and actively watched the recollation process.
The EC asked stakeholders to work with the commission to ensure that its mandate is completed, even though no timeframe has been given for when the re-collation will resume.
