A fire explosion in Bogobiri in the Ashanti region’s Obuasi Municipality is thought to have killed one person and injured three more.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) claims that welding activities at a garage was the cause of the disaster.
Since then, firefighters have been sent to the area and are presently handling the crisis.
For their own safety, GNFS issued a statement advising locals and drivers to stay away from the impacted region and use alternate routes.
“Trust our dedicated firefighters to bring the situation under control. Further updates will be provided shortly,” the statement shared on Facebook added.
