Fire Ravages Four Stores In Santa Maria
At Santa Maria A-land, close to the taxi rank, there has been a reported fire outbreak involving four metal containers.
The cause of yesterday’s fire in the food booths at around 2:00 pm is still unknown.
To save the day, firefighters from the Anyaa Fire Station were dispatched to the spot.
Because of their courage and quick action, the fire was stopped before it could do more damage.
The crew, led by ADO II Kobina Nyameye Dey, had to put out the fire entirely in more over an hour.
To ensure safety during the firefighting operation, assistance was requested from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to disconnect power in the impacted area.
The contents of the impacted stores were totally destroyed, even with the fire crew’s gallant efforts.
To find out what caused the tragedy, the Ghana National Fire Service has opened an investigation.
