Five Dead In Horrific Accident On Accra-Kumasi Road

A terrible tragedy on the Accra-Kumasi highway at Juaso-Yawkwei has claimed the lives of five individuals.

The fifth victim, who was seriously hurt, died after being taken to the Yawkwei Steward Hospital, while the other four victims died immediately.

The accident happened on Friday, March 21, 2025, at approximately 1 p.m.

A cargo truck with registration number AW 2808-22 and a Toyota saloon car with registration number GW 532-11 were involved.

Kofi Saviour, an eyewitness, informed Adom News that the crash with the saloon car was caused by the tipper truck driver’s attempt at an improper overtake.

According to reports, all of the fatalities were passengers in the Toyota, which was driven by a police officer assigned to Asante Akyem Agogo.

The tipper truck driver and his companion have been taken into custody, and the bodies have been placed at Yawkwei Steward Hospital.
