‘Fix The Country Member’ Arrested For Tearing NPP Posters At National Cathedral Site

After tearing up posters at the National Cathedral during the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) “Enough is Enough” march, a Fix the Country movement member was reportedly taken into custody.

It has been determined that he is Ralph St. Williams, also referred to as Fellow Ghanaians.

In a widely shared video, Ralph can be seen furiously pulling down posters at the Cathedral project site while fuming over the misappropriation of public monies.

Oliver Baker-Vormawor, the movement’s coordinator, revealed the news on Thursday via a tweet on X.

Oliver stated that Ralph was detained while traveling to Kumasi at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).

He urged that their member be released immediately, denouncing the arrest.

“It appears that Ralph’s arrest stems from his peaceful participation in Tuesday’s ‘Enough is Enough’ demonstration, where he highlighted government mismanagement by opening the National Cathedral pit, a site that has already cost Ghana 58 million cedis, for symbolic swimming,” the tweet read in parts.

Additionally, according to Barker-Vormawor, Ralph St. Williams was arrested in order to keep him from taking part in the “Say No to Galamsey” demonstration, which is set for September 21–23.

Oliver, meanwhile, is demanding an official apology from the government for what he saw as an obvious attempt to muzzle dissenting opinions.

He said that a formal petition about the matter will be sent to the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
