Puozaa, a resident of Dafiama Tuori, passed away at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra after a brief illness, according to family sources.
From January 7, 2005, to January 6, 2017, Puozaa represented Daffiama Bussie Issa (previously Nadowli East) as the MP for three terms, culminating a noteworthy political career.
Born on January 10, 1948, Mathias Asuma Puozaa pursued higher education at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, where he earned a Master of Science degree in Community Education.
Prior to his political career, Puozaa worked as a lecturer at the University of Ghana, Legon in Accra, demonstrating his strong commitment to the field of education.
Puozaa made his entry into politics by being elected to Parliament in the 2004 Ghanaian General Elections as a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Throughout his tenure in Parliament, he played a crucial role as the Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Education, significantly influencing educational policies and initiatives in Ghana.
Mathias Asuma Puozaa is survived by his wife and five children, leaving behind a legacy of dedication to both education and public service.
