Three Ghanaians and a Chinese are among the four people seized by the police for installing and tampering with electricity company of Ghana (ECG) meters.
The ECG meters were delivered to an agent named Wisdom Sewlorm for installation.
But Ernest Afatsawu, one of his workers, tampered with the meters and sold them for GH₵1200 to a Chinese plastic manufacturing company.
On Friday, August 2, the Chinese company’s manager, Rulian Shan, and his sales manager, Ali Yakubu, were taken into custody.
After being summoned, Ernest and Wisdom are presently the subject of an investigation.
The four people will appear in court on Wednesday, according to Paul Abariga, the Director in charge of investigation, prosecution, and security.
In addition, the ECG contractor’s contract will be terminated.
