Four Killed, 11 Injured In Suame-Maakro Accident

At Suame-Maakro in the Ashanti area, a sad accident has resulted in the deaths of four passengers and seriously injured eleven others.

The accident happened when a “trotro” minibus, registered AS-3600-17, and a cargo truck headed for Burkina Faso, registered WR-184-N, collided, according to reports.

The freight truck is said to have gone off its lane and collided with the minibus, which had fifteen passengers, causing the severe impact.

Several somersaults of the “trotro” resulted after the crash, hurting passengers on board.

At that moment, two passengers were declared deceased.
At Tafo Government Hospital, two more victims passed away from their wounds in spite of prompt medical attention.

Eleven more passengers were admitted to the same hospital after suffering serious injuries.

To find out what caused the crash, the police have been to the spot.

According to preliminary results, the collision might have been caused by a brake failure.
