Freddie And Son Sue Okudzeto Ablakwa And Media For Defamation

Former NPP chairman Freddie Blay and his son Kwame Blay have filed two lawsuits against Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa for defamatory writings that falsely link them to a purported theft of state property.

While Media General and Johnnie Hughes are named as defendants in Freddie Blay’s complaint, Kwame Blay’s claim is only directed against the North Tongu MP.

First lawsuit:

Kwame Blay clarifies that he is not associated with his brother Kwaw or the Polo Beach Club. He denies any dealings with Loic Devos Jnr, currently in a legal dispute with his brother’s business, Press Xpress. Kwame strongly denies accusations by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa of stealing state land or cheating Loic, stating these claims are false and harmful to his business and reputation. He questions why a lawmaker would intervene in a private dispute, causing public disapproval against one party.

Second lawsuit:

Freddie Blay accuses Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa of acting out of malice, especially timed close to elections, to destroy his long-standing reputation. He states that the information published about his sons and family is completely untrue. Freddie also alleges that Media General and Johnnie Hughes knowingly spread falsehoods to smear his name. He points out that Johnnie Hughes, through his show “Johnnie’s Bite,” amplified Ablakwa’s claims, presenting them as factual and causing further harm to his reputation.
