Fuel Tanker Crash With Two Cars In Konongo Leaves Two People Dead
In the Ashanti Region’s largest township of Konongo, two individuals were killed when a fuel truck drifted into oncoming traffic while trying to avoid a collision after its brakes failed.
Two people were killed instantly when the tanker struck a Hyundai Elantra and a pickup truck with the license plate GW 4031-21.
Other travelers were injured to varying degrees.
The terrifying minutes before the collision were filmed on CCTV, which also showed the petrol truck veering out of its lane to avoid a more serious accident.
Regretfully, while trying to get back in control, it veered into the other lane and collided with the pickup truck, causing the car to collide with a nearby Hyundai Elantra.
The pickup was smashed in the collision, and the other cars were seriously damaged.
While cleanup work continue, local authorities have issued a warning to exercise caution in the area while they look into the event.
