Gambian Vice  President Allieu Badara Dies In India

Gambian President Adama Barrow, on Wednesday, January 18, confirmed the death of Gambian Vice President Dr Badara Alieu Joof.

The Gambian vice president died in India while receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness. President Adama Barrow took to twitter to announce the death of his compatriot.

Mr Adama Barrow did not disclose the cause of his death to the people of Gambia. According to reports, the vice president died of cancer. He has been battling the sickness for a while now.

The remains of Dr Allieu Badara Joof is expected to arrive in the country to be buried. He would be given a state burial by the government for his service. A man of honour deserves nothing but honour.

Fellow Gambians, it is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing away of my  Vice President, His Excellency, Badara Alieu Joof. The sad event took place in India after a short illness. May Allah grant him Jannahtul Firdawsi. He tweeted.

Dates for his final funeral rites have not been communicated to the general public. Congratulations to the man to replace him in the presidency. Death is a portal to eternal peace for the saints.
