Nollywood actress Gbemi Anjola has lost her battle against cancer.
The beautiful 33-year-old actress has been battling ovarian cancer since 2021 and has undergone six months of chemotherapy in Dubai, UAE. Gbemi Anjola returned to Nigeria following the declaration of being cancer-free.
Ovarian cancer often goes undetected until it has spread within the pelvis and stomach. At this late stage, ovarian cancer is hard to treat and can be fatal.
Often, it has no symptoms in the early stages. Later stages are associated with symptoms. They can be non-specific, such as loss of appetite and weight loss.
On March 24, 2023, she was rushed to the hospital after experiencing memory loss and a headache; tragically, she died. May her gentle soul rest in peace. Gbedmi Anjola has been fighting for her life for two years now.
Colleagues of Gbemi Anjola, Itele and Zainab Balogun shared the news of her demise on their Instagram pages. Many Nollywood stars have taken to social media to bid her farewell.
