German Ambassador to Ghana, Daniel Krull, predicts that Ghana’s upcoming presidential election may go to a second round due to a likely close race between the NPP and NDC.
Speaking on the AM Show, he expressed surprise that Ghanaians aren’t preparing for a runoff, which he believes is a strong possibility.
Fitch Solutions also suggests the NPP might lose to the NDC in the December 7 election.
The London-based company, which has stuck to its prediction since last year, claims that 54% of survey participants predicted NDC nominee John Mahama to win the next presidential election.
According to a nationwide survey conducted by Global InfoAnalytics, 55% of voters do not think the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will be able to defeat the incumbent in the 2024 presidential election.
Nonetheless, the report stated that 27% of voters thought the NPP might break the “8,” with 18% of voters still undecided (8).
The running mate of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, is hopeful about the party’s prospects in spite of these forecasts.
He thinks the NPP deserves to win because of the tremendous progress they have made for the country.
The German Ambassador declared that the electorate determines the results of elections and expressed optimism that Ghanaians will make sure their decisions are upheld.
Mr. Krull pointed out that there are other ways to examine election results, and he thinks Ghana has the proper framework in place to make sure of this.
He added:
“I think Ghana is a very peaceful country and the overwhelming majority of this country wishes a peaceful, fair and transparent elections and they would make sure that they enjoy these elections,
