Getaway Car from Adabraka Robbery Traced To Ashaiman
The car involved in the heist in Adabraka on Saturday has been located and traced back to Ashaiman in Greater Accra.
Security officials have posted pictures of the Toyota Highlander, registered GN 7357-19, leaving the crime site at Adabraka in Accra and racing to Ashaiman on social media.
Before passing through Ashaiman Zenu, the car reportedly made stops at the Sunny FM Roundabout, Shiashie, Accra Mall, and Accra Mall Roundabout.
Police said on Saturday that they are stepping up their attempts to find the armed group that robbed a jewelry store in Adabraka on November 2 and injured one person.
The cops claimed to be on a quest for the group in a statement.
Four masked and armed guys attacked a man in a red Toyota Corolla parked close to the busy Adabraka market in the robbery event.
According to witnesses, the robbers came up to the car brandishing their weapons and shot several times into the air to disperse the throng.
As the gunfire echoed around the market, shoppers and sellers scrambled for shelter, hiding behind stores and looking for safety.
Large bundles of cash were in the boot of the Toyota, and the burglars swiftly pushed their way inside.
