Ghana defender draws inspiration from Brazil legend

Tariq Lamptey has shared his admiration for Brazil and Barcelona legend Dani Alves.

The Ghana international disclosed during his unveiling at Fiorentina that he takes inspiration from the 42-year-old.

Alves remains one of the most decorated footballers in the world and arguably the best right-back to ever play the game.

“I draw inspiration from Dani Alves,” he said  while also adding Alves’ ex-teammate Ronaldinho is his idol. ” I grew up watching him but my idol is Ronaldinho.”

Lamptey joined La Viola in the summer transfer window from English Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion, signing a four-year deal with the Italian outfit.

“Every team is a different challenge, and it improves me as a player. Fiorentina has been following me since I was young, it’s beautiful,” he added.

“Yes, there were others but when Fiorentina explained their project to me, I didn’t think twice and wanted to come right away.”

Lamptey made his Fiorentina debut in the game against Napoli at the weekend.
