Ghana Freedom Party Ready To Unveil New Flagbearer Following Akua Donkor’s Demise

Following the death of their founder and previous candidate, Akua Donkor, on October 29, the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) has declared that it has chosen a new candidate for president in the December 7 elections.

Reiterating the GFP’s dedication to the election and its vision for Ghana in spite of the passing of its founding leader, party leaders announced that the new candidate will be presented to the public in the days ahead.

GFP officials spoke to members and supporters during a news conference on Friday, November 1, in the Ashanti Region, reaffirming their solidarity and resolve to continue Akua Donkor’s legacy.

Patrick Tetteh, a parliamentary candidate for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, affirmed that the party’s executive council had decided on a presidential candidate and running partner who will preserve GFP’s principles and dedication to the Ghanaian people.

Tetteh emphasized the significance of this choice, stressing that going forward is a reflection of the leadership’s common resolve to remember Akua Donkor and carry on the party’s objective in her honor.

“The executives and leadership of the Ghana Freedom Party have decided and agreed on the next presidential candidate and running mate which will be announced and presented to the EC and the general public within the given period of the Electoral Commission to enable the Commission to proceed with its legal mandate and the democratic process of our country.”
