Days after the government of Ghana passed a bill of a 10 per cent withholding tax, Ghanaians reacted.
The new tax bill affects the lottery, sports betting and any game of chance. According to the new tax, winning any game of chance will attract a 10 per cent tax.
Ghanaians have reacted angrily to the latest development. What caused much fuss is the tax imposed on sports betting and other games of chance. Most of the youths have opined that the government promised heaven and delivered hell.

According to the GRA, It is a tax deducted at source by a withholding agent (a person required to deduct tax) when making a payment to another person and accounted for later to the GRA.
Twitter is boiling about a hundred degrees after the implementation of the tax. Some netizens have said they are prepared to hang their betting boots.
