Employees at GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited have urged management to keep its promises to address unpaid salary concerns and enhance working conditions.
Citing extended delays in spite of repeated promises from management, the irate workers protested outside the company’s Accra headquarters on Tuesday to make their concerns known.
In an interview with Citi Business News, Senior Staff Association Chairman Kingsley Sape detailed the rising dissatisfaction among employees.
“There are a lot of issues that are unresolved, management have removed the transport allowance without any prior consultation,”he said.
“For sometime now we have also not received our thirteenth month bonuses. Our salaries keep delaying. Our SSNIT is in arrears as well as our provident fund,” he added.
The state enterprise’s employees have previously demonstrated in the streets.
In 2023, a similar occurrence happened when workers accused management of poor management and sought payment of overdue salaries.
Reports of a purported sale of the Aboso Glass Factory have recently brought the Ghana Industrial Holding Corporation (GIHOC) into the public eye.
The National Distilleries Company, however, has flatly refuted these claims.
