Government Allocates Extra ₵25m To WAEC For WASSCE Results Release

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has received an additional GH₵25 million from the Ministry of Education to support its operations and guarantee the seamless continuation of the marking process for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

The purpose of this funding infusion is to help WAEC overcome its recent difficulties and hasten the publication of the WASSCE results.

In a statement released on Monday, December 23, 2024, Kwasi Kwarteng, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, acknowledged the money’ release.

He gave the public his word that WAEC would make the results available as quickly as possible.

It is anticipated that the additional funds will relieve WAEC’s financial strain and hasten the marking process’ completion, providing respite to students, parents, and educational institutions who have been kept waiting for results.
