Government Opens Ashaley Botwe School Junction To Tema Motorway Project

The six-kilometer Ashaley Botwe School Junction to Tema Motorway Road project was officially opened by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in an effort to strengthen the region’s road system and boost business.

On Monday, August 26, 2024, the dual carriageway was officially opened. It features amenities such as lay-bys, sidewalks, bike lanes, Tema Motorway slip ramps, and service lanes on both sides to improve safety and convenience for all drivers.

The project, carried out by Oswal Investments Limited, aims to improve road safety in locations such Ashale Botwe, School Junction, and Borteyman, leading to the Motorway, as well as cut down on travel times, minimize transportation expenses, and lessen floods.

The President stated at the inauguration that the project’s completion represented a strong commitment to keeping commitments and making sure that every citizen benefited from the government.

According to him, the strategic connection was more than just transportation; it involved strengthening ties between communities, promoting economic expansion, and opening up fresh doors for success.

According to him, the road connects the northern areas of Borteyman, Adjiringanor, Adentan, and Dodowa with the eastern half of Accra’s communities, including Tema Community 7, 18, 19, 23, and 24.

President Akufo-Addo claimed that the project would assist to relieve traffic congestion, create new economic corridors, and encourage the growth of businesses and communities by successfully connecting Accra’s east and west.
