The bride, Florence Debrah, was in one of the rooms at the event center, and the groom, together with his best men, had been waiting for her to arrive.
Witnesses said that as soon as the groom entered the location, he complained of feeling lightheaded. He fell to the ground before anyone could react.
Some of the invited visitors hurried him to the Anamase Clinic, but the facility’s medical staff declared him dead on arrival.
Police officers who had traveled from Accra, Koforidua, Oda, Akyem Achiase, Akyem Swedru, and other regions of the nation to witness the union were among the hundreds of participants who were grieved by the tragic news. Many were so distraught that they were unable to control their tears.
As stunned guests departed the site in grief, large amounts of food and beverages that had been prepared for the event went unused.
The deceased’s relatives made arrangements for the body to be taken to the Oda Government Hospital morgue for autopsy and preservation after he traveled from his hometown in the Northern Region.
The neighborhood was engulfed in grief, with locals lamenting the terrible loss and unable to partake in the customary joyous Christmas celebrations.
