Health Ministry postpones Nursing and Midwifery licensing exams

Health Ministry postpones Nursing and Midwifery licensing exams to September 4

The Ministry of Health has announced the postponement of the planned Centralised Nursing and Midwifery Licensing Examinations to September 4, 2025.

A statement signed by the Ministry’s spokesperson, Tony Goodman, said the decision followed a consultative meeting involving the Minister of Health, the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), and the Conference of Heads of Health Training Institutions (COHHETI).

It was agreed that the examinations will now be conducted within the respective training institutions, reverting to the previous arrangement to ensure smooth participation and effective supervision by the NMC.

Mr Goodman explained that the directive was informed by the risks associated with extensive travel to centralised centres, stressing that the measure was necessary to safeguard the safety and well-being of candidates while ensuring fairness and proper monitoring of the examinations.

The Ministry further indicated that a revised timetable and detailed guidelines would be issued by the NMC in due course.
