The government is set to announce a date for the commissioning of the $60 million James Town Fishing Port.
According to the project engineer, Mavis Allotey, the project is almost complete and will soon be handed over to the government.
“This project is about 99% completed,” she said.
After the facility was inspected, Regional Minister Titus Glover told the reporters that the government was still debating when to commission the facility.
He said it will be made public as soon as the government was confident. He advised everyone to “be patient.”
President Akufo-Addo had promised to construct harbors in the James Town and Teshie Townships in the upcoming years before to the 2016 elections.
After eight years, the president is almost ready to make good on his pledge.
It has come to light that some people have been defecating outside the building prior to its official commissioning. Mr. Glover advised them to stop doing it.
When the facility is finished, Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II pushed the government to hire the people.
