John Mahama Appeals To Akufo Addo To Settle NSS Allowances

Former President John Mahama has called out government for the delay in payments of allowances due to NSS personnel.

He based his comments on the failure to settle the NSS personnel of their allowances since November last year. The flagbearer of the NDC said there is no excuse for the delay since the amount in question is very meager.

John Mahama recalled that during his tenure in office as President, service personnel allowances were never delayed, hence his surprise at the case now

Speaking on his tour, He questioned why President Akufo Addo has constantly failed to meet the needs of Ghanaians.

“There was never a time in my government where we were unable to pay monthly allowance, but today for five months, they are unable to pay the service personnel, and the money is not so much.

“What kind of government is this? Nothing seems to be going well. The economy was bad and we are wallowing in debt, and the little amount due these personnel, you are equally unable to pay”.

Members of the NSS are threatening a nationwide strike to press on the fulfillment of their needs and demands.
