The Maiden edition of Kaba and Slit festival comes off on 1st May 2023. Traditional festivals unite tribes and people from all walks of life.
Roots Africa, the mother group that founded Kaba and slit festival is solely pushing an agenda of decency in society. The festival will showcase and encourage Ghanaians and Africans to patronise homemade fabrics and designs.
The idea for the festival was birthed on 26.2.23 after seeing a video on tiktok of women in beautiful Kaba and slit attire. According to Manye Korngo, the celebration is to sell Ghana’s rich culture to the world.

The Kaba and Slit attire is an influential aspect of Ghanaian culture. Dressing in beautiful print represents the country’s identity. It is a symbol of the country’s rich cultural heritage and traditions. The attire is significant socially, economically, and culturally.
Aspiring MP for Ayawaso West Mr John Dumelo, Naana Adiki Manyeyo Adi I and Nana Tiaa Ampem Darkoa I will be at the event. Celebrating the holiday at the festival will surely be memorable.
The purpose of hosting a Kaba and Slit festival for Ghanaians is to promote Ghanaian culture and fashion, celebrate our heritage, and provide a platform for stakeholders and textile manufacturers in the fashion industry to connect and collaborate.
