KMA Boss Appeals For Help To Develop Kumasi

Mr Samuel Payne, Chief Executive of KMA, has called on stakeholders to join the train o developing the Ashanti Regional Capital.

Last week, Bantemahene called on the KMA boss and his office to decongest Kumasi for easy developmental projects. The people of Kumasi welcomed the call to restructure the city.

Speaking on Akoma FM’s current affairs and political show GhanAkoma Wednesday, Mr Payne urged that “in 2023, the development of Kumasi is a collective task but not a one-man show. Let’s ensure each and everyone out of goodwill delivers their assigned responsibilities to ensure sustainable development in the city

City guards and police personnel deployed to direct traffic in congested areas become compromised so they are not able to deliver. Because of that, congestion is at the apex level in the city.

The KMA in recent times has been criticized for overlooking the mount of kiosks and containers. Before the call from the boss, Kumasi Traditional Rulers had already sent a word of caution.

According to the Kumasi Metropolitan boss, making the city beautiful is expected should be a collective effort. When people compromise on their duty, the obvious happens.

If I deploy a city guard to direct traffic and they do not comply, I can only fire the person but what if the replaced officer also does same? We can’t keep firing all city guards, the problem is not about the city authorities, it is more of attitudinal change. We have to ensure that in our own small way we do our best as agents of development in a collective manner to achieve the development and sanity we all crave for.
