Expectations
“How North-South Research Collaboration Contributes to Achieving SDG 3: Ensure Healthy Lives and Promote Well-Being for All at All Ages” is the topic of Professor Debrah’s presentation. His talk will center on how new mobile reporting systems used by Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) might improve the detection and treatment of lymphatic filariasis (LF) in Ghana, including elephantiasis and hydrocele. Additionally, he will discuss how digital solutions have advanced SDG 3: Health for All and the World Health Organization’s NTDs Agenda 2030 by improving the reporting accuracy of NTDs.
Session B, “The Future of Researcher’s Global Health Career in Africa: Challenges and Opportunities,” will be facilitated by Dr. Batsa Debrah. Her talk will focus on the difficulties faced by early-career researchers in low- and middle-income nations when working in resource-constrained environments. She will examine barriers to finance, infrastructure, and talent development and offer solutions to these issues in order to promote scientific creativity throughout Africa.
Leading scientists, decision-makers, and entrepreneurs come together at the prestigious Science Summit to discuss important scientific and technical problems. The Summit will cover a wide range of subjects this year, such as clean energy, artificial intelligence, biodiversity, One Health, and climate action. The Africa scientific Leadership Coalition, which seeks to advance African leadership in the formulation of scientific policy, will receive particular attention.
