Kwabena Boateng Wins Ejisu NPP Parliamentary Primary

Kwabena Boateng, the second Vice Chairman for the Ejisu Constituency, has won the New Patriotic Party’s nomination as the Parliamentary Candidate for Ejisu in the upcoming December elections.

In Saturday’s primary, Boateng received 394 votes, surpassing his nearest rival, Helena Mensah, who obtained 302 votes. Yaa Akyemaa Aboagye came third with 229 votes.

Former GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, who is on hospital admission prior to the primary, received only 35 votes. Dr. Evans Duah received 63 votes, while Portia Acheampong Abronye secured 6 votes. Klinsman Karikari Mensah and Aaron Prince Duah each garnered 2 votes. Jacqueline Abena Pokua Amoah-Boaitey did not receive any votes.

A total of 1081 delegates participated in selecting the New Patriotic Party’s candidate for the upcoming by-election in the Ejisu Constituency from nine aspirants.

However, the process was in stain by allegations of vote buying, instances of double voting, and some delegates attempting to capture screenshots of their cast ballots.

The parliamentary primary was organized by the party after the passing of John Ampontuah Kumah, the Member of Parliament for Ejisu.

During the week leading up to the primary, aspirants actively campaigned, working hard to persuade delegates to support their candidacy.
