Licensure Exams To Be Introduced For Mortuary Workers
The Mortuary and Funeral Facilities Agency (MoFFA) has made a historic announcement: in order to work in Ghana, mortuary staff will soon need to pass licensing tests.
The goal of this landmark action is to guarantee that mortuary employees work in a controlled and secure setting.
According to MoFFA’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr. Yaw Twerefour, this new requirement complies with the statutes and regulations of the organization.
Dr. Twerefour stressed the significance of this endeavor when speaking at a conference in Accra, and he urged the public and mortuary personnel to cooperate.
A big step toward professionalizing Ghana’s mortuary sector will be the licensure exams.
Nowadays, a lot of mortuary employees receive their training through apprenticeships, which may result in inconsistent safety and quality standards.
MoFFA hopes to create a consistent standard of practice for mortuary employees by instituting licensing exams, which will guarantee that they have the knowledge and abilities needed to carry out their jobs in a safe and efficient manner.
Dr. Twerefour asked the public to report any issues pertaining to mortuary facilities to the Ministry of Health’s office, where they will be resolved.
