President John Mahama has demanded that the suspect in the killings of former Abuakwa South MP J.B. Danquah Adu and investigative journalist Ahmed Suale be questioned quickly and thoroughly.
Mahama emphasized that questioning the suspect as soon as possible could result in additional arrests and help put an end to the cases during a courtesy call by a team from the Ghana Bar Association (GBA), which was led by its president, Efua Ghartey.
“Investigations into significant killings and murders have remained unresolved. I have urged the police and investigative bodies to take a more proactive approach, especially in cases like that of Ahmed Suale. That is why a suspect has been arrested, and we hope his interrogation will lead to further arrests. There are several other cases, including the JB Danquah case, which must be expedited in terms of prosecution and investigations,” he stated.
Mahama reiterated his dedication to protecting human rights and making sure that those who have been harmed by unsolved murders receive justice.
Daniel Owusu Koranteng, a businessman and Ahmed Suale’s old associate, was detained and accused of murder last week.
After a hung jury verdict in December 2024, Daniel Asiedu is also facing a retrial for the murder of J.B. Danquah Adu.
