Mahama Oversees Swearing-In Of 14 Ministers

The third group of ministers was sworn in by President John Dramani Mahama on January 30, 2025, in a ceremony at the Jubilee House.

Out of the 42 ministers proposed, 31 have been sworn in after 14 ministers who just obtained parliamentary approval took the oath of office.

Newly Sworn-in Ministers

The six sector ministers sworn in include:

  • Dr. Edward Omane Boamah – Minister of Defence
  • Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah – Minister of Lands and Natural Resources
  • Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka – Minister of Interior
  • Naa Momo Lartey – Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection
  • Gilbert Kenneth Adjei – Minister of Works, Housing, and Water Resources
  • Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum – Minister of State in Charge of Special Initiatives

Newly Sworn-in Regional Ministers

Eight regional ministers also took the oath of office, including:

  • James Gunu – Volta Regional Minister
  • Rita Akosua Awatey – Eastern Regional Minister
  • John Kwadwo Gyapong – Oti Regional Minister
  • Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo – Greater Accra Regional Minister
  • Tia Ibrahim – North East Regional Minister
  • Dr. Frank Amoakohene – Ashanti Regional Minister
  • Donatus Akamugri Atanga – Upper East Regional Minister
  • Ali Adolf John – Northern Regional Minister

This latest swearing-in ceremony moves the government closer to completing its ministerial appointments as President Mahama continues to assemble his team for governance.
