Mahama Replaces SEC Boss Ogbarmey Tetteh With Avedzi

Rev. Daniel Ogbarmey Tetteh has been removed of his responsibilities as Director-General of the Ghana Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) by President John Dramani Mahama.

An formal letter to President Dr. Callistus Mahama, signed by the Executive Secretary, conveyed the directive.

Dr. James Klutse Avedzi, the newly appointed Acting Director-General of the SEC, has been instructed to take over Rev. Ogbarmey Tetteh’s duties.

The Commission is expected to keep Ghana’s capital markets stable during the leadership change under Dr. Avedzi’s direction, even if the letter did not specify the reasons for the termination.
