The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has urged the Electoral Commission (EC) to include rural locations in the impending mop-up voter registration effort, in addition to district offices.
A mop-up registration exercise has been scheduled by the EC for August 1-3, 2024.
However, Mr. Mahama contends that allowing registration to be extended to these places will allow eligible Ghanaians who are 18 years of age or older to register during the mop-up campaign, preventing the suppression of votes.
He made these comments during a session with Ghanaians titled ‘Mahama Conversations’ on Sunday, June 9, 2024.
