The 70-year-old national best farmer is Nana Owusu Achiaw Brempong, who hails from the Ashanti Region’s Sekyere Central area.
With 168 employees, Nana Owusu, whose farming career started 50 years ago, controls the farms in North America that grow a variety of commodities, including as cashew and cocoa.
He was rewarded with one million Ghanaian cedis.
The National Best Farmer urged greater efforts to ensure food security in his award speech at the Farmers Day event on November 8.
Farmers Day Celebrations, which honored farmers for their commitment and economic contribution, were held simultaneously across the nation.
The occasion was attended by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and other dignitaries.
