The Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has donated 10 motorcycles and five incubators to the Juaboso Health Directorate to enhance healthcare delivery in the district.
The minister, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Juaboso Constituency, stated that the personal donation was in fulfilment of a request from health workers.
He said it also aligned with the government’s commitment to strengthening maternal and child health services.
Mr Akandoh said the motorcycles would improve outreach services, enabling health professionals to reach remote areas, while the incubators would boost neonatal care and survival rates of premature infants.
The Minister of Health highlighted the government’s plans to introduce new policies under the health sector, including free primary health care to intensify vaccination and immunisation exercises across the country.
The MP for Juaboso expressed the confidence that with such modern equipment, health professionals would ensure quality healthcare delivery in the area.
Gratitude
The District Director of Health Services for Juaboso, Dr Deborah Mensah, who received the equipment on behalf of the directorate, expressed her gratitude and commended the minister’s efforts in transforming the health sector.
She pledged to ensure regular maintenance of the equipment to maximise its impact.
