MoFA cautions public against fake agric grant scheme

The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) has cautioned the public to disregard an online publication soliciting applications from small and medium-scale agribusinesses for a purported grant initiative.

According to the ministry, the website, email address, and contact details provided in the publication are not affiliated in any way with MoFA. It has therefore distanced itself from the publication and urged the public not to engage with it.

In a statement issued in Accra, the ministry explained that the publication in question attempts to persuade agribusinesses to register with an organisation calling itself the Global Farmers Association (GFA), allegedly based in Nairobi, Kenya, in order to obtain a certificate of accreditation under a non-existent “Agricultural SMEs Grant Initiative 2025.”

MoFA described the alleged initiative as “fake and fraudulent.”

“The attention of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture has been drawn to some fraudulent publications online intended to dupe unsuspecting members of the public, especially those involved in small and medium-scale agribusinesses,” the statement noted.

“The general public is hereby advised to disregard the said publication,” it added.
